A Stripe clearing workflow
When eligible WooCommerce orders are paid through Stripe, their gross payment amount can be allocated to a Stripe clearing account as part of the Xero sales record. The later Stripe payout reduces that clearing balance when it reaches the bank.
Fees should not reduce sales
If Stripe pays £4,850 to the bank for £5,000 of captured customer money, the £150 difference is not missing revenue. It is normally a processor fee or another settlement adjustment that needs its own accounting evidence and account.
Refund dates matter too
A refund may occur days after the original order. Keeping the refund's source reference and date avoids silently rewriting the original sales day and helps explain why a later Stripe settlement is lower.
What ClearCommerce controls
The WooCommerce payment method remains source data. The store mapping chooses the Xero clearing account and posting treatment, while daily-summary or individual-invoice rules decide the sales document.
