ClearCommerce uses the Shopify connection to obtain source order information for the correct company. Xero accounts, tax mappings and posting behaviour are configured separately so one connector does not dictate the books.

The connection flow is built around Shopify app authorisation. ClearCommerce stores the resulting connection against the customer company and uses the approved access to import the source records needed by the accounting workflow.

Shopify payment methods, taxes, shipping and discounts are imported as ecommerce data. ClearCommerce then applies the mappings chosen by the business before Xero receives anything.

What this connector page does not try to be
It is not another version of the Shopify-to-Xero sales landing page. The commercial workflow is explained separately so the connection documentation can stay focused on access, source records and tenant isolation.
Why that separation matters
A multi-store company may use different accounting policies for different channels. The Shopify connector should not assume that a card payment, tax code or order status must be posted to the same Xero account as another store.

FAQs
Does ClearCommerce need admin access to the Shopify theme or storefront?
No. The connection only requests order, tax and fulfilment data needed for accounting; it does not modify the storefront, theme or products.
What happens if the Shopify connection is revoked?
Once revoked, ClearCommerce stops pulling new orders from that store; previously imported and exported data remains available for review.
